About the Role:
A busy and expanding construction contractor is seeking an experienced Buyer to support procurement across multiple projects within groundworks, RC frames, infrastructure, rail, and aviation sectors.
This is a commercially focused role where you will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring cost-effective procurement across live projects.
Key Duties:
- Place and manage orders in line with project requirements and programme
- Negotiate prices, terms, and supplier agreements
- Coordinate deliveries to ensure materials arrive on time
- Maintain and develop strong supplier relationships while identifying new supply chain opportunities
- Support cost control and value engineering initiatives from tender stage through to project delivery
Experience & Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and suppliers
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Commercially aware with the ability to understand costs, risks, and opportunities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider commercial team
