About the Company / Project:
A leading civil engineering and construction contractor is seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to support a variety of their projects right across London. The role involves ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards, while promoting a proactive safety culture across site operations.
About the Role:
The Health and Safety Advisor will work closely with project delivery teams, supply chain partners, and client representatives to maintain and improve site safety. The successful candidate will be hands-on in delivering audits, training, and safety initiatives while driving accident-free projects.
Key Duties:
- Provide expert advice on risk assessments, method statements, and site safety plans
- Conduct HSEQ audits, inspections, and forward planning meetings
- Investigate accidents and incidents, producing detailed reports and safety bulletins
- Promote a strong health & safety culture through workforce engagement and communication
- Deliver in-house training sessions, inductions, and toolbox talks
- Monitor compliance with CDM regulations and relevant statutory requirements
- Represent the business at client and subcontractor safety meetings
Experience & Qualifications:
- Proven Health & Safety experience within civil engineering or construction projects (groundworks, RC frame, structures, temporary works etc.)
- Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and CDM 2015
- Excellent communication and training skills
- NEBOSH General & Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
- IOSH Membership and valid CSCS Card
- Full UK driving licence
