About the Company / Project:
A leading structures and civil engineering contractor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support a major building project in the Oxfordshire area. You’ll join a high-performing commercial team delivering quality, value and programme certainty across complex works packages.
About the Role:
You will take commercial ownership of defined sections, from measurement and valuation through to change control and final accounts. The position involves close collaboration with site, design and procurement teams to maintain cost control, manage subcontractors, and report accurate monthly positions.
Key Duties:
- Manage measurement, valuation and agreement of work packages
- Prepare interim applications for payment and internal valuations
- Track costs and produce monthly cost reports and CVRs
- Draft, place and administer subcontracts; support settlements and final accounts
- Maintain robust records and administer change control
- Support claims preparation and advise the project team on contractual matters
- Produce weekly/monthly commercial reports and forecasts
- Provide day-to-day guidance for any trainee/assistant commercial staff
Experience & Qualifications:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
- Proven experience on self-delivery or subcontracted civil/structures packages
- Strong commercial reporting, subcontract administration and measurement skills
- Clear communicator with excellent organisation and attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel) and common construction software
