About the Company / Project:
A fast-growing construction contractor, specialising in groundworks, civil engineering, and reinforced concrete structures, is seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to join their operations team. With projects ranging from mid-sized developments to multi-million-pound contracts, they deliver high-quality, safe, and cost-effective solutions for clients across London and the South East.
About the Role:
The Senior Site Manager will take responsibility for scheduling, coordinating, and supervising site operations to ensure work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. The role will involve managing operatives, subcontractors, and suppliers, as well as overseeing temporary works and ensuring compliance with all H&S requirements.
Key Duties:
- Plan, manage, and monitor day-to-day site activities
- Supervise site teams and subcontractors, ensuring productivity and quality standards are met
- Manage site logistics, materials procurement, and plant requirements
- Oversee temporary works in line with project requirements
- Ensure RAMS and other H&S documentation are up to date and effectively communicated
- Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and statutory checks
- Ensure compliance with commercial processes and procurement procedures
- Attend progress meetings, providing regular updates to the project team
- Promote best practice in quality assurance and ensure records are maintained
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders
Experience & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager in groundworks, RC frame, or civil engineering projects
- SMSTS / SSSTS certification
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Experience with quality assurance processes and relevant software is an advantage
