About the Company / Project:
A leading UK construction contractor is seeking an experienced Temporary Works Design Engineer to join their growing design team. The company delivers safe, practical, and cost-effective solutions on challenging and high-profile projects across London and the South East. This role will see you working on complex temporary works packages, ensuring designs are efficient, buildable, and delivered to the highest safety standards.
Key Duties:
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and technicians
- Produce temporary works designs that are safe, cost-effective, and practical to deliver
- Prepare and present clear build solutions using drawings, reports, and sequencing
- Liaise with site teams to ensure designs meet project needs and timeframes
- Research and share innovative approaches to temporary works
Experience & Qualifications:
- Chartered Engineer (IStructE or similar)
- Strong knowledge of structural and geotechnical design
- Proficient in AutoCAD and relevant design software (e.g., Robot, Wallap)
- Confident communicator with leadership skills
- Commitment to innovation and continuous improvement
