About the Company / Project:
The hiring company is a well-established, multi-disciplined contractor based in North London, specializing in demolition, groundworks, civil engineering, and building projects across the residential and commercial sectors.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to support the delivery of a major Groundworks & Demolition project in North-West London. The role will involve managing key engineering responsibilities, ensuring quality, and maintaining smooth project progression.
Key Duties:
- Manage the day-to-day engineering aspects of the project, supervising junior engineers and site teams.
- Submit RFIs and review drawings, specifications, and temporary works designs.
- Oversee setting out, surveying, and checking works to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure strong communication flow with the client, attending meetings and providing progress updates.
- Implement quality assurance procedures, including pre- and post-pour inspections, reinforcement checks, snagging lists, and final sign-off.
- Collaborate with site and commercial teams to ensure project targets are met on time and within budget.
- Monitor and manage health & safety compliance on site.
- Provide technical support to site teams and assist in resolving engineering challenges.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in Groundworks, Demolition, or RC Frame projects, preferably with a reputable contractor.
- Experience working with **temporary works designs and engineering solutions.
- Strong background in reviewing and interpreting drawings and specifications.
Qualifications:
- Degree in *Civil Engineering, Construction Management*, or a related field.
- SMSTS/SSSTS certifications preferred.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage teams and work independently.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
