About the Company / Project:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join the North London and Hertfordshire teams. The company is a leading organization specializing in civil engineering, with a strong emphasis on ground works and operating within a Tier 1 environment. Projects demand a high standard of health, safety, environment, and quality, ensuring excellence in every aspect of the work.
Responsibilities of the Project Manager:
The Project Manager will oversee every aspect of the project, including planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure within agreed timeframes and budgets. Key responsibilities include:
• Providing strong, visible, proactive leadership with regard to health, safety, environment, and quality standards.
• Supporting and endorsing the company's Behavioural Safety programme and the use of hazard observation reporting.
• Establishing and implementing site systems and controls consistent with company standards and contract requirements.
• Organizing resources for the overall control and execution of the works, including the selection of sub-contractors.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant safe systems of work and administration of contract programme and narrative.
• Monitoring and controlling contract/key dates, resource requirements, production rates, milestones, and targets.
• Managing cost and value correctly and reporting updates on resource planning and contingencies every month.
• Providing resources and active management for any third-party liaison and management of interfaces.
• Securing materials and plant necessary to meet specifications and the planned programme of work.
• Ensuring quality management in accordance with the Quality Management Plan, including ITPs, Check Sheets/WIS, and NCRs.
What the Project Manager Will Need:
Experience/Knowledge:
• Civil Engineering background with previous experience in ground works and Tier 1 environment.
• Good construction knowledge of techniques and productivities.
• Successful track record in managing operational delivery within construction.
• Strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
• Experience with reinforced concrete structures and temporary works desirable.
• Experience in managing a multi-disciplined team.
Qualifications:
Relevant formal qualification is desirable: HNC, HND, Degree.
CSCS and SMSTS certifications.
Skills:
IT literate with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to deal with clients and internal staff, work on own initiative.
Meticulous, organized, proactive with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Self-motivated, enthusiastic with excellent organizational and planning skills.
